Volume I discusses the theories and philosophies of litigating cases in direct and cross examination. Volume II implements these methods of conducting direct examination in order to assure a flawless presentation of the case. The author uses trial transcripts from some of the greatest trial lawyers of the past century to illustrate these techniques. Volume III shows the attorney how to argue the case through opposition witnesses, convert the information provided on direct examination to the benefit of the cross examiner's case and limit the direct testimony so it is not detrimental. Also incorporates actual case excerpts and explanations of the techniques. Volume IV defines the ``real'' purpose of summation, outlining the limitations and using actual case studies. Instructs attorneys to teach jurors how to argue their position for them against adversaries in the jury room.

Judge Stern shows the really function of cross-examination!

Herbert J. Stern is a former federal prosecutor and judge. In this book, the third of a four-book series on how to win in court, Judge Stern shows how to use cross-examination to win. All too often, lawyers do not understand that cross-examination can be deadly to their cases. Judge Stern demonstrates how to avoid this trap. This book is a "must read" for every trial lawyer

Worth 10 Trials

Reading these books will give a lawyer a level of trial skill mastery that is unique and remarkable. I truly believe reading Herb Stern's "Trying Cases to Win" is fully equivalent to trying ten complex cases. It will put the reader on an entirely new level of success and give the reader a skills advantage over other trial lawyers with 15 or 20 years of experience.
