Practical, useful entry level guide to statistics

The book is very useful as an introduction to applications of statistics principles in health care. It is an entry level guide to statistics and discusses most of the topics usually covered in more depth in two semesters of college level statistics courses. There are some very practical "rules of thumb" which serve as useful shortcuts to the more complicated math calculations and which illustrate complicated concepts very well. The editors missed a few minor typos.

I opened the book to Chapter One and a few pages fell out into my hand. You'd think with as much as textbooks cost, they would at least have better binding.

if you are taking stats from Dr. Scariano at SHSU do not buy this book.. just take the notes from his class.
